- Christmas season is a magical
time to visit the Phifer Ice Dam Park during
- the Franklin Festival of Lights.
The park at 880 Main Road, Lehighton, is
- filled with nearly 1/2 million
lights.
- The magic of the holidays comes
to life as visitors stroll through a
- candycane lined path to see the
animated displays.
- Visitors will see many new and
original displays, including a special motion
- light show, synchronized to
music, skating bears and jumping dolphins or
- look for your favorite display of
Cinderella and Prince Charming as they
- prepare to ride in their special
pumpkin coach and see the leaping deer, a
- special tribute to the military
or Santa stuck in the chimney, riding a fire
- truck or snowmobile. Too many to
mention. The playground is open for
- children to use during the
festival.
- At the end of the candy cane lane
is a Christmas Café, where visitors can
- warm up with hot chocolate or a
bowl of homemade soup. Santa is available in
- his workshop for photos and
videos, which are available for a small fee.
- Franklin Festival of Lights will
be open Dec. 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23,
- 26, 27, 28, 29 and Dec. 30, Hours
are 5 p.m. To 9 p.m., except for Saturday
- nights, when the festival remains
open until 10 p.m.,
- Golf cart rides are available for
handicapped or elderly at no additional
- cost, Reservations are suggested.

- The Franklin Festival of Lights
is sponsored by the Franklin Township Lions
- Club. Proceeds from Festival of
Lights benefit the club¹s many community
- projects, including scholarships
for deserving students, eye glasses for
- sight impaired, donation to fire
victims and to maintain and improve
- Franklin Kids Creation, a unique
handicapped accessible playground at the
- park.
